I had a problem with sexual harassment here by an old tenant which had some skill with cooking and in the past worked for great restaurants. He was usually drunk, and at least once I heard him bringing a woman to his room. Once he kept slamming the building front door because since he was drunk he had forgot the password. When he entered, he just stayed there weirdly looking at me. Sadly I no longer remember his name. The landlord name was ken, and he was a good person to me, when I complained after leaving, he kicked out the person; and in my last day in Yokohama he even ate with me and friends in a izakaya he presented. I also met a japanese lesbian girl who I thought was just my friend, but in only 1 month she was already asking if I did not loved her. That is Japan for you, if you live with a lot of people in a share house it is likely you will deal with pretty weird people. You will have to climb a lot of stairs though usually to arrive here, and the place is filthy and some things are old, the toilet and bathroom were shared. There was a cleaning lady, but she could not do much against tenants without manners who made the place dirty, but I also think she could not clean well either. Due to all that and difficulties I was facing in my school and with parents in my home country, I ended up having to abandon Japan and almost could not go back later. Hinodecho also is a shady place, full of weird people, perhaps dangerous. Keep that in mind if you want to live here. The price was not as bad as well, as expected when you have to share your place with other people.
