友ランゲージアカデミー/Yuu Language Academy Sapporo

This post will be written later. If you have interest, come back later. この投稿は後で書きます。興味があれば、後に来てね。

Japanese sometimes have a weird sense of humor. For example, in the aforementioned school name, there is “yuu” (friend), when the school was one of the least friendly I met in my research in 2022. Actually, Sapporo may not have a decent japanese language school perhaps as of now.

Back in 2022, they caused me a lot of trouble by asking me to wait for a “government authorization for additional students”, later interviewing me, saying it was fine (I started moving out procedures from yokohama), and suddenly they refused my application. Actually there was later another review online about someone saying their school management is a mess. Even gogonihon supposedly was “shocked by the behaviour”. Later I figured out however which the problem may had been autism, and I only considered this school back then because they were using the same book series as the Yokohama school, dekirunihongo or something like that, which later I found was actually not a good series, so it was a misguided attempt. Schools using students as guinea pigs to test if teaching material is good, yes, that happens in Japan. It was actually offensive as well which they knew Yokohama school was not good because I told them the nasty details (because they asked), which I really need to change and they made me lose time, so I was unable to choose a third school and that led me to return to Brazil in 2023. Perhaps they did not wanted me because since I was complaining about the Yokohama school I would do so about them once I was there, because I did not knew the real yuu language academy.

However, if you had been reading my blog, you know it was actually better being refused by such a bad school, and I was able to pass JLPT N2, not pass but not have a horrible grade in JLPT N1, finished my 2024 japanese school with a special award and ended up in Sapporo anyway even with a scholarship. “Some bad things come for the greater good” may be an applicable phrase.
